Expo Live I Sustainable Organic Integrated Livelihoods (SOIL)
Sustainable Organic Integrated Livelihoods (SOIL) is a non-profit research and development organisation working in Haiti to implement social business models to sustainably increase access to cost-effective household sanitation services. EkoLakay provides affordable container-based sanitation (CBS) for resource-poor urban Haitians. The project provides over 6,000 residents with safe, dignified access to sanitation. The sytems have also produced over 200 tonnes of compost, establishing a circular economy model that also addresses soil erosion and deforestation.
